Why is Holiday@Home important for your business?
This project has been designed to contribute to the economic regeneration of the district by encouraging local residents to make greater use of local businesses, such as yours, when they have friends and relations to visit them.
Market research has shown that there is a significant opportunity to Sussex by the Sea (Arun district) area. This will benefit your businesses, your staff and help create economic growth within the area by keeping spend within the Arun District.
Some facts worth considering;
- In 2004 their were 221,000 visits by friends and relatives totalling 526,000 days in total
- Their estimated spend is conservatively put at £9m per annum
- 50% of the visits taken in company of friends and relations are currently made to places outside of Arun
- 85% of Arun’s residents are having friends or relations to stay with them at least twice a year
- These visitors add up to 33% of all staying visitors within Arun but only 8% of total visitor expenditure
Simply put this means that the area is attracting the visitors but they are not spending their money with Arun businesses. The Holiday@Home Privilege Card provides a much greater opportunity to promote your business to local residents and their visiting friends and families.

How much does it cost and what's the catch?
The Holiday@Home Privilege Card has been designed to contribute to the economic regeneration of the district by encouraging the resident of Arun to make greater use of local businesses and attractions when they have friends and family to visit them.
This service is FREE to your business. We only ask that in order for you to participate in the project your business provides some sort of offer for the users of the Holiday@Home Privilege Card. This can take the form of a discounted entry, a reduction in your prices or a free or discounted item only available when the local resident produces the card. No card means no offer and no cost to you. Each card produced means extra potential business since if residents and visitors have a good experience of your business they are likely to return!
